Owners in Turkey have had to endure significant price increases for berths in the past few years. Over the past few years, prices have increased by approx. 20 % annually, and in some places even exceeded those in Italian marinas. The devaluation of the Turkish Lira, which fell by approx. 30 %, did not bring the desired relief, as the operators did not pass on the savings to customers. Instead, they even increased prices by 5 to 8 %. Prices were the highest in the Bodrum and Göcek regions. Despite the political turbulence, Turkey is experiencing an uninterrupted influx. Furthermore, over the next few years, new marinas and expansions will increase the number of berths even further. It will be interesting to note when the market reaches its saturation point.
